I used to live on Kinsey Court, a cul de sac in Peachtree Hills. My late father told me it was originally named "Atnalta" -- Atlanta spelled backwards. He said the neighbors changed it to Kinsey, which was the name of a brand of whiskey sold by one of the residents.
There is a Kinsey bourbon made in Pennsylvania. Maybe the neighbor was the local distributor. Maybe there's an echo of the story in the company name Atnalta Distribution Inc.. Anybody know David Aitken?
As for the backward spelling, there's a town in Alabama called Remlap after the Palmer family that founded it. Not directly relevant, I know.

I am curious about Lakeside Dr NE in Buckhead. Was there a lake there at one time?
